Default Project "What Were We Thinking"

Well 4bangler delivers again.. he hooked up snopro91mi with a 87 jeep cherokee with a 4.0 and no trans. it has been sitting for at least 3 years on his property untouched and was said to be sitting 4 years before it was driven to his property. so it has been sitting for roughly 7 years. 4bangler pulled the trans and sold that away so it was a perfect candidate for a ax15 swap seeing how it originally came with a BA10.

How it looked when it was pulled onto the trailer

4bangler hauled it to my house and tear down began

more pics and progress to come

how it sits in the garage

we started by taking everything out of the interior and this is what we found

as you can see around 7 years of sitting in an open field has not be nice to this thing

As for where we are now... we have all the unibody repaired and are tracking down the last few parts for the trans swap. Floors will be going in soon and then a 6 inch lift

well after lots of research and some modifing the trans and transfer case are in

then we tackled the front lift and the lower control arm bolts were a PITA but we got the lift in

then we did rear lift for this we built spring packs and added a 2 inch lift block. seeing how this thing has been sitting outside for the last 3 years we werent even going to try and pull the leaf spring bolts out

we changed all of the fluids hooked up the coil and ...... It started !!!!

lots more work to do yet

Good luck with aluminum lift blocks. I had em come out back when o was a cheap ass. They'll actually compress and get smaller from pressure.
