If you drive in salt or mud they will rust out rather quickly.I dont think they are worth the hassel on a stockish motor.I have the best luck with stock chevy manifold gaskets instead of the header gaskets they supply. As someone else said, warm them up a few times, and retorque them before you drive it,then check once a month.

Headers are like this. You get what you pay for. Cheap ones are a pia and not worth the time or effort to put on. Now if you have your mind set on some save your beer can money for a while, like 500$ worth and buy a real quality set made for your truck. They will fit good, seal good and once torqued down right sound great with a small improvement I'm power. Now once you star adding some motor mods they will help that motor breath. Remember, if the flanges are not at least a 1/2" thick you are waiting money.

Where are you finding 1/2" thick header flanges?? Ive never heard of or seen 1/2" thick flanges. I've used headers on most of my vehicles, and the largest Ive used was 3/8" with no problems ever.
