Default YJ Door Handle~ INSIDE

The driver side inner release handle has broke BUT it's a very small plastic piece that has broken on the inside of the handle. If anyone has an old door that's laying around and has the inside handle portion, I would greatly appreciate it. I can buy the part from the dealer but we all know how much that's going to cost and I would rather just buy it from a trust worthy individual who has pity on a poor college student.

Below I have attached pictures of the back of the inside handle where the piece has snapped off. Let me know ASAP and I will come meet you anywhere, (I'm located in Clarkston and it would be great if you did not live X amount of miles away so I can offset the cost of the dealer price). Thanks a lot.

Hard to tell from the pictures what it is you are looking for, but...

Are you talking about that little white piece that holds the rod into the door handle lever??? If it is, go to any parts store and ask... they will have it... They sell a whole pack of misc. door hardware pieces in Canadian Tire here in Canada for about 8$...

Perhaps a picture of you pointing to the broken piece with a pen or a pointer would help... Just saying...

hah, good point. I figured it was snapped and it was self explanatory but yea, on second glance, not so much.

It is indeed the white piece that has broke and this is the second time I've had to do this but I don't want to buy the handle again.

Are you sure that any auto-parts place will have it? It looks like it's specific to the handle and what not.

I had an handle yang around from a previous fix and just recycled the old plastic clip. Thanks a lot. I also found the part for multiple other Chrysler vehicles but no YJ clip.

Do you guys know anything about leaks occurring in your driver side floor board for the YJ? It's been occurring multiple times over the past few years but in the winter it gets bad because it freezes to a sheet of ice. I just fund a lot of extra time and now have the time to fix all those awesome 'it's a jeep thing' annoyances.

Hey wehan, do you still have any of the those parts you have linked to below your name? I'm looking to get an ash ray so I can put my spare change in there, it's getting real old having to go through the center council.

For info, I just had to buy a clip from NAPA on Friday. They had one on the spinny display. with other door parts. It was 1.49

Clean the vent intake (1' x 5" vent towards the windshield of the hood) drain tube... likely full of mud and when winter comes freezes solid allowing the water to get into the heater and vents

Should be a 1-1/2" black tube with a pinch on the bottom. It is located coming out of the firewall to the "left of centre" (Like 90% of the people on this site). Remove the squeeze type hose clamp and turn it upside down and "Bang the shit out of it"... If that doesn't cure your water problem.... then I am afraid you have a leaky windshiield seal or (like 90% of all YJ owners) you have a rusty windshield frame... Good luck!

Cheers BigBird!

(worried about the leaky windshield....)

Any idea how much a fiberglass windshield windshield runs?
