I finally pulled it out of the garage.

I just finished mounting the front bumper bumper I bought used from jeepxj_boy_21 on here. I got the joy of breaking two of the steering gear bolts off in the gear, which I found that no measure of specialty tool or heat could remove. I ended up rethreading them to m12x1.5 and using some fancy VW bolts I had to hold it on. The spacer was also crumbling shit, so it now became 1/2 nuts welded to fender washers. Seems okay for now. The steering shaft pulled out of the mating end and I had to install it exactly 180* off when I put it back (consistent failure). I removed the shaft at both ends to correct this and played hell to force it back inside itself (I wouldn't want to go there either) I finally fixed my screw ups to find that the bumper wouldn't fit with the coolers in front of the front crossmember. The bumper holes had to be relocated, and I will add a tab when the temp goes back above freezing to relocate the third bolt on each side.

freshly seam sealed and re-welded floor.

I want to hurry and get this done, but the winch and axle work will have to wait until tax refund time. I want to get going on this:

Took it to Rocks and Valleys over the fourth of july weekend. I had charged the a/c in May and have been driving it pretty much every day. It did pretty good.

Brought it back and put in the Aussie I bought from DeMarTools on here and the Rusty's front skid that I got from him as well.

Found that the front skid thing does not like to interface with my drop pitman arm. This will get trimmed when I get it back on a hoist at work. I'm sure something else will break by then.

Bought new shocks, sliders, and front springs from rubilooe today... time to drag this back out of the backyard and play with it a little more. I'll throw a few pics up when I get stuff together.
