Default New Project

Finally got the Jeep sold so now I can start on the new project a 1971 GMC Jimmy 6" Lift 36" TSL's. Unfortunately I didn't get enough out of the Jeep to go far with it this winter. Right now gonna get it running good, get a front DS for it. Next winter I will hopefully have the $$$ save up to do the body work and paint.

Thanks I can't wait to get working on it. I will try to keep posting photos but probably won't have much to add for a while unless I hit the lottery.

Yah I have been searching for about 10yrs, could never find the right one at the right price. Being a Chevrolet dealer I would prefer the Blazer but this one came along at the right price and is actually quite nice. Gonna have to rockers, doors, and a few other things. Need to get rid of the quadra junk carb, a buddy has a Holley EFI kit I just need to talk him out of it.

LOL, I got a 64 C10 if you absolutely need a Chevy.

Also, let me know when you want to inject the truck - the holley kits are expensive and overrated - we can use TBI goodness to make it run right and give you the benefit of getting parts locally off-the-shelf if anything ever fails.

I would like to inject it now but funds are low 2 kids and christmas. Do you have TBI injection parts? A buddy has a 650 edelbrock that I am probably going to put on it for now to get rid of the quadrajunk, did a tune up and it made a huge difference but it still spits and sputters when on the floorboard.

Is a frog's ass watertight?

I'm still perfecting TBI-to-carb adapters, but parts are not a problem. Shoot me a pm and we can talk more - basically what you're looking for and when.

I would shit can the Edelbrock and do a rebuild on the Quadrajet. Edelbrocks suck off road even with the off road needle and seats. If you're going to stay carb'd, go with the Holley Truck Avenger.

So now that winter sucks I am considering selling my sled to partially fund this project. I have decided to go forward with the body work and paint and save my $$$ for 6.0 liter or something similar for a motor in a year or two, so now I am trying to decide what color to paint it. Any suggestions, my girlfriend wants to keep it green,
