Default 2000 gmc sierra 4wd

My buddy has a lifted 2000 gmc sierra that has a 6 inch lift and 4.56 gears. The front diff was professionally set up and has not had any issues until his t-case grenaded. Got a remanufactured t-case from valley trucks and now he has some issues. The minute you put the truck into 4wd it acts as if someone hit the brakes pretty hard up front. It is real herky jerky and sensitive to the slightest steering movement as well, almost as if it were in 4-low. Any one else every experience anything like this?

The drive shaft would not be binding due to angle i would not think since it was fine before the tcase went out. I would think is a u joint was so bad to cause this kind of issue that is would be noticeable all the time since the drive shaft spins all the time.

When the tcase was replaced we checked the u joints and they were good but it does not hurt to pull it off and check again.

Also i have an 01 and when i go into 4wd it is nice and smooth and drives great, his truck literally slows down enough when you switch in that you feel like the truck downshifted hard when that is not what happened.
