Default Kim Jong-Il WTF?

OK, I am ignorant on the subject and I have not been watching any world news lately. Why is everyone crying in North Korea about Kim Jong-Il's death? I was under the impression that this was a facade (spelling?) for some political agenda or something. "If you dont cry we wir kir you and you famiry!". This Youtube video looks like real crying.

Their government resembles a typical religion. Brain washed people = that video

And that video is propaganda, which is how governments like that keep the people in line with their agenda.

With government controlled media he could very well have been perceived in a positive light by his subjects. I don't know much about North Korea but if people don't have access to internet but rather tv and papers that are controlled by the government you can make them believe anything.

I have a question for you all.

Why do you all believe that he was a nut job etc etc etc.

I too believe he was a wierdo, but please understand that what you se on tv here on the radio and see on the internet is manipulated by your government as well. None of you know what he was like or have ever been their. What you know about North Korea and their dear leader is what "they" want you to know. and when I say "they" I am not refering to the North Korean's I am refering to "the government"

The North Korean propaganda machine is very powerful. When I was stationed in the ROK in 96-97 we used to find leaflets scattered around(dropped by balloons) proclaiming how great it was in the north (lies).

since their media is state run, any video footage you saw was what they allowed to be published. I'm sure a lot of north Koreans were relieved when he passed, but of course his successor is probably just as bad.

Much of what we hear about life north of the DMZ is fairly accurate BTW.
