Default 98 f150, out side of normal inspection

i just inherited my grandpas 1998 f150 ext. short box 4x4. i am not a ford guy at all but because this was my grandpas truck i want to take very good care of it. It only has 90k on it but is there any major this that go wrong with these trucks out side of the regular wear and tear items?

what xj said plus ignition coils/blown out spark plugs (on v8's), 4x4 front end shift fork, and manifold leaks. Make sure you have it checked for the fuel tank strap recall. Don't wanna run over your own fuel tank. :)

the limited slip, if it has the 9.75. Might have the 8.8, if so, you're ok.

?????? never had an issue with my lsd 9.75 has 200xxx and still will burn both 33s anytime i want.
these motors like there oil changes, so stay on top of those. ive had a few 5.4s and a 4.6 never have i had a plug blow out. iirc that was later on after 2000.
when the manifolds leak replace with headers its easy to do while you have it apart and you will like the results. motorcraft finewire platinum plugs, motorcraft oil filters and you should have a truck that will last a long time. theres alot of info for mods out there. f150online is a good site. long tube headers, exhaust, chip, intake and electric fan will make the truck fun to drive.
