My damn garage heater went out to night and it's just a year old too. Man I was going to work out there tonight but it's to cold for this old fart. Guess I have to work on the heater tomorrow night now. Ok I'm don't ranting now!

And it's heated.. well WAS heated... I'd be glad i have a garage to work in... I got a garage but its my dads and his project is taking up both sides... so if i feel like workin on something its outside on the cold wet driveway... of course we do have a fan set up that pulls the warmer air down from the rafters... it helps take the nip off but thats about it... still cold a witches tittie in there....

What is really sad is your garage is probably warmer than our house. We moved the temp down to 58* after we got our last heating bill.

BDR- that sucks..I feel for you ..we still use a wood cast iron stove to heat our garage...all work has to be planned really well...1.vehicle in garage...2.light fire...3.turn on all four halogens to help heat garage 4.continue to feed fire until garage is good and warm....5.start maintenace and continue till done.do it right cuz we dont wanna open that overhead door and let the heat out till we are done..6. make a continous effort to keep fire wood in the garage next to the stove while its burning, otherwise its to wet to burn....

on the note of cold houses.....hot water heat is the shit....we built our addition and used steal joists so we mated up some hot water conduit to em and ran every other joist..so the floor is always warm and since heat rises so is the room...and the energy bill tends to stay slightly lower than a forced air system.however we are not without mistakes and regretts.. the rents are now regretting putting in that stupid gas(read: fake) fireplace....shoulda listened to me and gone with real wood burner...it may be a lil dirtier but wood is way cheaper than gas right now....especially when its free...
