I totaled a custom F250 and the insurance company tried to lowball me. They told me they only paid actual cash value. I sent them a bunch of ads from truck trader showing similar vehicles and they doubled theer offer. Since then I have recieved disclaimers from my ins co saying the won't compensate for non stock items.

me and my whole family goes through Farm Bureau my dad wrecked a 98 silverado in 08 they made him an actually fair offer i would say but he had tools etc that get jacked in the wreck, and he got values on those and pulled NADA value on the truck and got estimate for replacement similar year model etc from shaheen chevy in lansing and they covered it all.. all said an done he ended up with a little more than double the original offer... i will say he was very kind/pleasant with his adjuster and that seemed to help him alot....

well, they called and made an offer. it was just under what i would be happy with. trying to get back to the claims adjuster right now. i don't really care for how they call me right before they leave the office everyday, and how i'm usually not out of work yet when they call, lol. this has happned three days in a row now, and with three different branches of the company.

My daughter totaled her car insured with Progressive. We had a very reasonable offer within a couple of days.

i got out of work early today for a doctor's appointment, and finally got ahold of the total loss department. we spoke briefly, i made it clear tha my demands were not outrageous by use of examples, i was polite (thanks to sweetleah for reminding me that i am talking to a person not a machine), and my settlement was raised to just above what i was asking for. now we just have to deal with trying to get them to reimburse my wife for lost wages during her time off, and picking my son out a new car seat and sending them the invoice. xmas is gonna suck this year though, i'm gonna have to hear it from all my relative's on that side of the family that "i let grandma's car get all smashed up after all that fighting and arguing over it." oh well, one problem at a time i suppose. now it's time to start shopping for an extended cab pickup, small suv, or hell, maybe even another panther platform car to replace the merc. thanks again everyone for sharing your experiences!
