i painted an 07 jeep cherokee hood last week and that had 3 color coats and 5 coats of clear but if you looked down into it it looked a hundred feet deep.

i just sprayed mine with a gallon of rust-o-leum flat black and an airless sprayer. under $40 with tape and everything. actually looks pretty good i think....

not to jack th thread but do you thin the paint when using a airless sprayer??
seams someone told m that you ddont when using something like a wagner sprayer......

no, no thinning necessary. wagners are POS, try to find a real one you can borrow/rent
