Do you guy's with solid lock front, welded or spools, break u-joints and stub axles on d60's? My D44 breaks stub axles and u=joints frequently when trying to turn sharp with the locker engaged. Is the 60 heavey enough where it does not matter?

When you install the front shafts are lining them up left to right to minimize binding?

I could tell when I helped take the front end apart during the motor swap. The shit was rusted in!

Spend the extra $50 bucks!

For ~$600 you can get the real deal from Summit Racing. The Yukon is a "generic" version of the Detroit. Looks the same, and the parts most likely will fit together (wouldn't call them interchangeable!). But, it isn't an engineered product and is made by an aftermarket company, not an OEM supplier like the Eaton Detroit Locker product. Been there. You won't regret the extra couple of bucks. All of the light duty versions (Spartan, etc) are for light duty use. If you're running a 60 model, I gotta assume you either have a heavy truck, very large tires, or substancial driveline torque multiplication to the axle.

It's called phaseing the shafts. Supposed to reduce bind. With a LSD or locker it won't work because the shafts can spin individually, but welded or spools they stay lined up. Esentully when you put the shafts in you make sure they are in the same orientation. Or is it 180 off?
