I don't mind a little bit, but I don't want to destroy my leaves and send the driveshaft flying out the side lol.

Thanks man!

Soooooo...... I've been goofing around a LOT with the carb on the bronco, but it always seemed to be running too rich. I had a big-boy Mallory coil from the Yukon left on the shelf that I had forgotten about.
We stuck that puppy in there and once the plugs cleaned out it roared to life! I thought it had good power before lol!
I struggled to hit 5000 RPM's snapping the throttle before and now it hits 6500+ faster than you can blink.

I can't wait for the drags this weekend!!!!

Well- the harder I pushed it, the better it ran today. This is the 1st BBF I've ever owned and I have to say that I'm incredibly impressed!!!!

Over the winter I'll add a couple more goodies like a new/bigger carb and a better flowing intake. Headers and bumping up the rest of the exhaust to 3" won't hurt things either.

If I can snag any of the vids from today I'll post them up. Keeping up with trucks/Jeeps that had paddles and running nitrous and keeping within a truck-length of them felt pretty darn good!

I gave it a bath and stuck it away for the winter. I'll start on the minor bodywork and start getting it prepped for paint next week. I'll post up more of the progress and pics as things get completed.

How was the dunes this weekend? I wanted to go for an end of the year day, but it didn't happen.

I ended up going to the Horse Shit Nationals (grass drags) with a couple of the guys from sand drag central and SLSDF. It was at a friend of mine's place.

I'll have to wait for the opener to hit the dunes again

Maybe Collin went....

Thanks guys. MiNi- nice to hear that you're alive! We'll have to go hang out again sometime soon...

Updates from the last couple weeks:
New toys for the dunes and drags. This has already prompted me to start setting up a new center section featuring a spool and a set of moly axles.

33/16.50/15. I need a set of 15 x 15 5on 5.5 if anyone has a set in a corner collecting dust.

This week I've been tearing into the worst spot on the body. Pass side rear door sill and all the issues behind it.
Here's just some pics of it as I cut into it and started cleaning it up. I'm going to start cutting out the holes and I'm hoping to get the majority of the metalwork done this llong T-day weekend. I'll post up more pics later after I get most of it buttoned up. Replacement tins are on their way from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard right now.

All stripped down and the rollers under it. (It looks so sad...)

Lots of sand, clay, and rust fell out of this thing once I started opening it up...

Just some more pics once it was opened up...

I spent a few more hours this past weekend and yesterday bending up and burning in some more pieces of the inner body structure- mostly out of some stainless steel I had lying around. After several tack-welds, a ton of seam-sealer was added to lock out the water.

(sorry for the crappy cell pics)

and then placement of the new rear door-sill and getting it tacked in.

and then the work that I'm especially proud of.... I've never done any real metal-forming before.... I have some sheet-metal that's a couple gauges thicker than the factory tins. I started a little larger than I need so that I can trim it down to fit.
Then with a pair of thick leather gloves, a rubber mallet, my big vise, and the edge of my welding table, I wiggled, bent, and beat this into shape. It took about 20 minutes....

I have them propped up on a welding magnet because of the undercoating on the back of the old 1 and the folded edge where it was welded to the door-sill origionally. I'll notch the edge of the new patch panel so I don't mess up the radiuses and then make small sectioned bends. The last bit of welding can finelly get done (Saturday???) and then I can move on to the last little spot at the back that needs significant attention.
After that, it will be a pretty straight-forward prep and paint.

ummmm YES!!!!

I'm planningon spending a significant amount of time up there next season. I think this thing will be a real contender in it's class once I add a couple more mods over the winter...
