Default 1970 C10 update a year later

Build started awhile ago but is moving kind of slow since I am trying to fund my wedding too.

So far I have stripped down the frame , repainted it black , did a little bit of the body work on the bed of the truck.

A little bit of the details it's a 1970 Chevy C10 , LQ9 6.0L out of a 2005 H2 , 4L80E auto transmission , 19 gallon fuel cell , inline fuel pump with a Corvette fuel pressure regulator.

Not much more has been done yet I need to get on ordering lowering kits and a disc brake conversion kit but I have not settled on a bolt pattern yet.

I got the engine started and running for the first time yesterday since 2006 when the truck was totaled out. I'll post up some pics and the video of it running and update as it progresses.

Hope I'm not in the wrong spot to put this lol.

Cool project! I'm right in the middle of building a 53 GMC. I've always been a fan of the late 60's early 70's Chevy's.

Anyone know of a good custom exhaust shop around Lansing ? I need an exhaust but have been turned down by the local muffler man and shops like that because the bed and cab are not on the truck.

Got my issues fixed on it. Moves under it's own power got some custom cut drive shafts on and a set of headers.

Going to put on a temporary exhaust today so my neighbors won't get mad at me for running it with open headers. Temp exhaust is 3 inch pipe back to a pair of thrush mufflers all cost me $42.

Soon to put on the other fender , hood and start making it look like a truck again. I've got more plans for it and will have pics to update as I get things done.

H'mm, might have to look into that for my build.

Also, just found this build, looks cool.

What do you got planned ?

Thanks for everyone's help. As for the exhaust I have decided to build it myself since a friend of mine got an exhaust bender.

I plan on starting a build thread once I determine if the frame is savable.

I completely forgot about this thread.

Have had it running and driving since spring.

I will post more build picture later but , here are some of the recent pictures.

2" drop front and rear. It looks to be more though.

The 40 year old radiator finally crapped the bed so I am fabbing mounts to run my spare blazer radiator.

Started wrapping the headers too during these pictures. Was getting too hot and I'm hoping the wrap will keep the heat in and move it out of the engine bay.

Running 3 inch pipe to electric cut outs back to a pair of knock off flowmasters.

I also had the rear end welded but , it is getting loud in reverse so I am hoping to swap in a new rear end with a locker this winter.

Got my AC compressor in and trying to find a way to run AC without a vacuum line.

Yes it has AC (hoping anyway) but , no power steering and no power brakes.

Update to the worst build thread ever.

Runs and drives now. Tons of wheel hop so hopefully will be getting a 4 link real soon. I ran into a bunch of problems with a tune shop and didn't have it for awhile and now it runs worse than before.

I might be able to help you out on a tune, depending on your location & controller.
