Got the trans and axle back from All-Pro, Ken is a great guy. Got them awhile back and just now have made room to work in the garage. I hope I can remember how it all goes back together...

Working on assembling the axle and painting it.

I have about 90% of what I need to finish it. I just have to find the time to work on it. I work pretty slow out there I still have not finished the floor

Finally made it out to work on this a little bit. About an hour's worth.

Bought new lockouts, I'm going to try the Warn standard versions. I like the positive 'click' they make and 1/4 turn to engage them. The spring is also beefier. Dave at Cascade 4x4 broke out both boxes and separated them so I could take a look at how they go together and figure out what I want. The drawback is the plastic knob, but I figure if I break that then I will upgrade. Always GREAT customer service when I see Dave.

I now have all the parts except the passenger brake caliper to do the disk brake conversion on the D60. I plan on getting that in the next week or two. Just depends on if I have time to work on it.

Parts waiting installation...

Caliper brackets painted

New trans Next to the old...

Closeup of the broken bell housing.

Readying it for installation. Now I just need to find my transfercase shifter, and all the other crap. Rear axle shaft removed as well.

A 4 month old slows progress, but it's still faster then before I had him

Something tells me the choice to go disks instead of fixing the drums was the right one. I don't think these have worked in years, even though they came off a 'working' truck. (Mud truck)

No sign of mud in the drums though, surprisingly. I was expecting them to be packed.

An hour today...

Mocked with the caliper, I guess I should have bought my pads and caliper hoses already. I did not think I would have made it this far.

Goal is driveable by Snowfari, and wheelable by next year. I have said that before though.

I would love to have it for Snowfari, but would be scared to have that be a shake down run.

It will be funny when the jeep is all blah and it has bright shiny lug nuts

Hopefully I will get it painted this year too. Nothing like NitzPixs though...

I got a rough quote for a skid plate for the trans and t-case from Unlimited, and have them make my draglink/tie rod. It is do-able, I just hope I can loosen my wallet up and bring myself to fork over the cash, I am a cheap bastard and that is part of the reason this has taken so long.

If anyone is good with tuning carbs/engines, I could use a hand. This engine is fresh with less then 500 miles, but my Oil pressure always seems f'in low and underhood temps are ridiculous. It seems like it runs well though, but you tromp on it and it falls on it's face. If you ease into the throttle a bit so the secondaries are already opened, then tromp it, then it rockets.

Another shipment should be here today/tomorrow.

After that it is decide who I want to build my sport/full cage, trans/t-case skid, drag link and tie rod for me. I have to decide on a driveshaft as well...

Steering shaft came, but the one end's joint is the wrong one, so I have to exchange it.

New valve covers came, they are the tall ones, but they are the cast aluminum and they were clearanced so they were cheap.

We just need to get the line lock installed, the front lines installed, and bleed the brakes. The right rear needs to come apart to replace an axle seal though. The new press made easy work of the lug studs

Bling lug nuts lol

skid back in place

and new tool

I will take a look, for some reason I thought it was the frame that gave out on you. I was going to reinforce it. if that was the case.
