flannery builds some good motors..i have had 2. this guy is trail riding and it is a xlt...not a xcr..or a rxl or a ultra.don't think he needs pipes to have fun on a 15 year old sled.

i am different then a lot of people.i ride a shit ton of miles,a bunch is alone.i dont do crap to my sleds but dial the chassie in,clutch it and ride. i spent thousands back in the day for a "faster" sled...waist of money. after spending a grand to go up north for the weekend sure dont want to be sitting at the motel because i smoked my sled..been there done that.even rebuilt one in the parking lot.watched my buddy blow his up twice in a week trip then buy one on the trail with his credit card..
is that extra 5 miles an hour really worth a few thousand bucks?

these days you will never have the fastest sled in the bar.there are a bunch of poor farmers and laid off construction workers that have spent way more then you to be "that guy" turbo's are the new cool, stock mufflers go right along with that.

the days of milling your head, bigger carb's ,loud pipes, and full leather gear are over.. in is breathable thin gear, stiff boots,mx helmets w goggles, fuel injection and turbos...done!

its a bastard chassis, and nothing is available to play with it anyway.

i put on hyfax, woodys ez steer carbides, ski skins, a tank bag, an oil caddy, 96 1" studs and tunnell protectors. ill ride it as is this season most likely.

it will get plastic skis, and a clutch, and i might drop one tooth on the top gear next season. unless i fall into some money all of a sudden?

that new assualt looks sweet!!!!

i got a hot to go 800 kit on an ultra 680 motor, with the carbs, clutches, and pipes, all set up by them in ny. needs the top end re-done.
love to find a wedge ultra chassis in good shape with no motor. it was pretty fast in the old days.

wrong. i have a 95 xlt sks and when i put the slp pipes and slp head on it and also had it jet'd it made a world of difference. the reason people say not to pipe these is because they blow them up by not jeting them right. if done right the sled loves them.

OP- that is a clean sled. remember they love fuel i can go threw a tank in a day easy. if you want to pipe it go ahead just make sure you get it rejet'd and if you need any help or info just get at me.

lets agree not to agree, and unless you've had it on a dyno to prove your claims I'd say your mods are more a placebo effect
