Default Different Gear Ratio Front and Rear

Just curious if it would be alright in 2wd drive to run two different gear ratios in a 4wd (Front Driveshaft Off). Im planning on changing the gears from 3.55 to 4.56 in my 99 Ram. The reason i want to know if its alright to run 2 different ratios is because im pretty busy with school right now and wont have the time all at once to swap both. So could i do say the rear one weekend and be able to drive around in 2wd until i can do the front another weekend? or do i just need to wait until i have the time to do both?

I went two months in the middle of last winter like that. There was one day I absolutely had to use 4wd, it worked but I had to back up to get it to disengage. Get it done before snow unlike me and you'll be fine
