Aluminum rims

I've got a set of 4 Chevy 6 lug rims I'm cleaning up, so far I've really only gotten into one of them, but the two pictures should show my progress.

So far I've taken all of the clear coat off, and wet sanded them down with a 220 grit and 1000 grit. Anyone have luck with any particular kind of rubbing compound, or polish? I'm going to get one of those Mother's powercone things and give it a shot, see how they turn out. I can't use these on my truck so they'll most likely wind up re-sold here on GL4X4, so I'd like to know how you guys would do these so they're easier to sell.

I plan on clear coating these when I'm all finished, unless someone knows a better way of keeping them corrosion free.

I've never had much luck with the mothers powercone. I use old socks turned inside out and mothers.

Hah - I have heard that one before. I was just looking forward to using something on a drill, my hands aren't so great these days.

This is the best kit I've used. I also purchased the clear coat remover to get it started. You will be able to see your reflection when you are done.
