BS. How about you thank the professionals for turning your $30k into over $100k and taking a very small fee. The other option is that you invest with your limited knowledge and attempt to come close to those returns, have a similar level of diversification and a good knowledge of timing the market.

[QUOTE=whiterhino;2817151 Why should we go through life feeling sorry for Mr. & Mrs. Smith because they got caught up in a loan that sounded too good to be true? They are adults. They made the commitment. They are the ones responsible for their household.[/QUOTE]

I agree with Larry Winget about this. A deal is a deal. If you signed a deal, you committed to it. It is your responsibility to honor it.

So does this mean their savior is going to be holding his re-election dinners at local Denny's?

to just a spouse:

so...if you say make a deal, stick to honoring it. I agree with this, yet the bank can reclaim your property should you not hold your end of the bargain. They can stick you with paying the remainder, and still resell it??? Its legit for big business to have zero commitment or accountability, yet the little guy takes it in the ass. your logic is amazing. Did I get that correctly?

They can only stick you with what they are unable to recover. I think that only applies to cars though because when you foreclose now you only get bad credit.

Denny's? You think we're made of money? The local greasy spoon will work.

I am saying they don't come out ahead. They are recovering the amount you agreed to pay.

Yeah, the person that over was over extended. . . . tough luck for being dumb. Maybe it'll help them make better choices next time.

true, but not likely. Consider the average american's gross income, their education level, and the fact that you have genius level people who's sole job is to overcomplicate things to get people to buy into these situations knowing full well they can be fubar-ed very shortly. What Brods digressed previously spells out this situation and who's intentionally trying to wrong whom.

Its nice to know that you're smarter than everyone else and expect the same of everyone else, but the truth of the matter is told in foreclosure statistics.

Now, how would you explain the wall street bailout, taking your statement into consideration??? I see a political see-saw with a fat kit on one end.

This whole ordeal is a multi-faceted problem with no one direct solution. It requires change from everyone, change which goes against the fiber of modern society. Being honest, being accountable, taking action to create jobs nationally, a big ass supply of cheap fuel, and investing in national infrastructure.
