I would say yes to 1,2, and 4. 3 and 5 sound OK but I'd want to know more about them and what effect they'll have first.

F ing HUGE YES on 1,2,3,and 4 !!!!!

1 will KEEP ORV funds in ORV accounts and prevent the government from "raiding" them.

2 will keep race OUT of consideration for entrance into employment or schooling.

3 will allow us to hunt doves as we've done for HUNDREDS of years around the world.

4 STOPS eminent domain seizures for private development purposes.

5 would tie school funding to the rate of inflation -- sounds OK.

Just a side note, 5 will kill a lot funding to local municipalities, if the state economy stays bad, which includes your small cities, villages, and townships.

Expect your local governments to ask for more money through your property tax, if 5 passes.

Yea, although I would love to see more money for schools, it has already been said that the money for this will come from police and fire money. Not alot of crime up here so...not a biggie for me but I can other cities having trouble with it.

I'll be voting for it.

Hmm . . .

I'm NOT a fan of higher taxes, I can't afford the ones I have to pay now!
Maybe a NO on 5?

Now I'm undecided! (on 5 ONLY)

I'm voting yes on 2 and 4. 3 doesn't affect me as I'm not a mourning dove hunter so I am undecided or may abstain. I will probably vote yes on 1 but if the gov. can't loot money from the conservation and rec fund they will loot it from something else (see my concern about prop. 5) and I don't know what that something else would be.

5 I have to look at more. I like the idea of equity between schools. Some district's per pupil is much higher than others. But as with anything the money that will be spent on the lower rent districts (like Hartland) must come from somewhere else.

Don't you think that IF someone DOES want to hunt Doves that they should at least have the FREEDOM to do so?
I'm not going to hunt them either, but FIRMLY believe that hunters should at least have the right ( as they do in 40 other states and umpteen countries).
Oh, and we HAVE been eating them as food for hundreds of years too -- the TV arguement that they're too small to be food is BS.

As for Prop. 3 -- You think legal trail riding opportunities are poor now? What happens when there's NO money to maintain trails? Wanna bet the DNR says the system has to be closed because of 'adverse ecological harm from over use'? These "funds" were CREATED SOLELY for the intended purpose. Now you're going to let them swipe them?

That's like going to the store and placing a gallon of milk on the counter, paying for it, and then having the store clerk put a bottle of water in your bag!

It's NOT what you agreed to pay for!

Would you let 'em do it just because the store was low on milk?

I DON'T think so.

If you REALLY would, come on over here, I have some 'stuff' I could sell you!

from my understanding, schools will get the designated cost of living per year, No Extra Major Funding...................it will all come out of the general fund anyway. So I wonder if the state has a banner year, does this stop the schools from getting a major per child increase??????

Yes on 4 & No on 5. nothing against teachers but 5 will create many problems for everyone. They plan of funding prop 5 from the general fund. That means less money for servies as stated above. Not a good idea.

The Lansing State Urinal had a big article opposing #1 today. I read it on-line under the opinions section. The whole issue is that they couldn't find any instance where money had been pilfered from the ORV funds so why does it need to be protected... Maybe because every time Jenny has tried to take it, the off-road and outdoor groups have bitch slapped her to keep her out of the funds...

They didnt look very hard then . Money has been taken completely for other reasons atleast twice .

1 was for snowmachine clubs who groom the trails at there cost then get reembursed for fuel , Granholm took the funds from the sled stickers and pissed it away , not a dime went to the clubs as was suppose to .

If I am misinformed on any of the issues please let me know. To the best of my knowledge here is how I plan on voting.

1. yes I want they $$ I spend enjoying the outdoors to be spent to make sure I will be able to do so

2. yes Get off your lazy black (or whatever minority you are) ass and work for the position you want. You bitch you want equlity well here you go.

3. yes I'm not a hunter but why should others not have the right just because I dont hunt

4. yes I have seen the local government seize land that people lived on around me so they could sell it to developers. People had lived there for years and the land/home were in decent shape. The government need less control not more

5. no I'm not convinced that the money would actually make it to the kids. How many people(not the teachers) in the school system would get raises and pilfer the money before a cent was spent on teachers or the kids?

At this point, many schools are just looking for places to get money to keep the heat or lights on. I agree that 5 will possibly hurt other areas of the state, but not all areas. I, as a teacher, do not yet know how I will vote on this one, but I am perdy sure that it wouldn't go for raises....holy moley after all we have been through, there would mucho hell raised.

I dont have a problem with teachers getting raises. I guess my concern would be by the time it gets down to that level it is wasted on the higher ups and needless crap.(Kinda like government giving themselves a raise when the state is in bad shape)If someone could convince me it would go to the kids/teachers it would be an easier choice.

no on 5
Why secure funding when they're already misspending the money they have?
