Default ranger motor swap

i have a 99 ranger 4x4 that has a sick 3.0 whats the easiest swap for this truck.Ive never been happy with the 3.0 so want a 4.0 or maybe 5.0

3.0L doesn't share the same bell housing pattern as a 4.0L or a 5.0L so a full drivetrain swap would be in order to replace the 3.0L. Could always turbo or super charge the 3.0L

get a 98-00 explorer or mountaineer with the 5.0 in it. Closest thing to direct bolt in v8 you will get with these trucks. you will need to swap out for a fullsize t-case from either a f-150 or an expedition. here is a link to a ton of information on this swap: http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/f12/

Not to sure how to handle the manuel trans seeing as the explorer pcm is set for a auto and all, would need a custom flash at least to get rid of the lights on the cluster.

Been looking to do this to my truck for a long time, just waiting for the right price on a truck. Ill be keeping an eye on this.
