10 bolt lockers?

Does anyone make a selectable locker for the Chevy 10 bolt IFS or am I looking at doing a SAS if I want a selectable locker?

dont think the cv shafts would take it. ever if you did find one

This is just going to be a daily driven vehicle with almost stock size tires, might need locker occasionally to get out of driveway in the winter, no rock climbing or anything like that.

I could use a lunch box locker but I am afraid it might make it steer funny on snow covered roads that's why I want a selectable locker but I don't know if they make them or not and I also don't even know what I have as far as ring gear size and spline count. I am assuming it is a 28 spline and 8.25" ring gear?

Does anyone make heavy duty CV shafts?

i have an 87 chevy with the 10 bolt solid axle front and i have an ARB in mine. Dont know if they are the same or not but if they are then yes they do.

I know they make them for the solid front 10 bolt but I don't know if that would work in a IFS?

what vehicle is this for? to my knowledge you can only get a selectable locker for a 9.25 IFS unit found in 3/4-1 ton trucks. the 7.25 S truck and 8.25 1/2 ton models won't handle the stress associated with a locked axle. ARB makes the one for the 9.25 unit.

Yep this is a 1/2 ton...they do make lunch box lockers for it, how do you think it would drive on snow covered roads with one of those? Also would the 3/4ton unit be a direct bolt in and could I use the 6 lug cv axles in it or does the 3/4 ton axles with the 8 lugs have more bolts or different pattern that bolts the axles to the carrier and different spline count, if so does anyone make a hybrid axle of some sort to do this kind of swap on a 1/2 ton? What about limited slip diffs, do they make any of those for the 8.25 front ifs?

If you have vaccum engage you could weld the spider gears in the front. S-10 guys have been doing this for years. Then it only fully locks when four wheel is engaged. Kinda a redneck way to go, but it works. Plus like others said, your cv's won't like it, but may survive light use.

BTW, lunchboxes in front are great. They don't engage until you put it in four wheel. I now have 100,000 miles on the one in my Cherokee, no issues.

2009 & 2010 Hummer H3 Adventure had e-lockers in the front and rear. They had a different 3rd that was stronger. Don't know if it would work or if you could find one.
