AutoWorld engine mounts?

Those are the best pics I've seen to show how the engine fits down in the chassis with the IFS intact.

Coming along nicely.

Any thought into how you're hooking the hydroboost back up yet?

No the auto world mounts are too over priced for me so i was going to build my own mounts untill I found a shop called blakes diesel care he makes the mounts for 95$, I didnt see any reason to take the time to figure out the best spot for the engine placement and build the mounts for that price. The mounts come with a engine bracket and a plate to weld to the chassis then you drill the center hole through and use a first gen rubber mount. As far as the hydroboost you can either use the gm resivior on the dodge pump or you can just tee the return lines together and use the stock dodge pump and resivior.

Yup, AW mounts and the others are nuts, I built my own but now I wish I'd known about the ones you bought!

I also used the Dodge rubbers, but after 4k miles they're junk There's a guy I found from the 1stgen forum that makes a Poly mount set for $100, I want to give those a try sometime soon.

I used the GM reservior, and while a little tight, it looks awesome.

I got the ac bracketry buttoned up, serp belt on, looked into the some fittings for the ac compressor, and got the down pipe welded up.

made a heat shield for the down pipe and mounted the 95 accumulator. The 95 accumulator has different hose placements so the hoses clear the down pipe better.



made this bracket for the gm alternator


bad pic but you can see where i machined the stock water neck to place the gm alternator


got the throttle cable and cruise control cable hooked up. i used a throttle cable for a throttle body truck instead of the vortec truck, you can use either cable but mine was worn out so i figured i would replace with this one since it is a little shorter than the vortec




had to move the shifter hole back about 4" so i made this plate to cover up the old hole




the stock shift lever would have hit the console so instead of trying to bend the lever that goes into the tranny i built a hotrod kenworth wanna be shifter

yep keeping the ifs, i want something that rides nice and sits fairly low since it will be my daily driver and haul around my blazer. I figure if it sits fairly low and doesnt have huge tires it should get better fuel mileage and will still have 4x4 for the winter.
