Default Samurai third member swap HELP!

OK i bought a samurai off here a while ago and seen you can take 2 front third members from a auto or manual tracker.Got a third member from a manual tracker and my axles are to big to just slide into carrier. What does this swap consist off? Does any year tracker work?

Any year from 89-98 should work.

Look on Zuwharrie.com for more information, i think you'll have to swap the side gears.

Just to compile the info here, and add a little:

Front tracker thirds fit in the samurai axles.

Used in the front, they bolt in.
Used in the rear, you swap in your samurai side gears first.

In the front the aluminum third member will hold up prety well, but the rear should have the gears swapped to the Samurai steel third member.
Besides, the Samurai carrier is a 4 pin carrier (stronger). you will need to add a shim to the ring gear and a aftermarket retainer ring for the cross pins (or tack weld the cross pins in place)

Remember, only the Tracker front thirds and gears fit the samurai axle housings.

Its prety simple really.

hope that clears it up for you.
