Default turning radius

Anyone have any good way to get a tighter turning radius out of a 10 bolt front axle?

I have cross over steering, the wheels go lock to lock.......I just have to make like 200pt turns on the trail....anyone have any ideas?


I thought K5's has a narrow rear track to help with turning but thats not an option for me really



are there any tricks?

If you have a twin-stick case and not a spooled rear, add a cutting brake and front dig your turns.

I was curious when I saw the thread right up to "spooled front". it explains a lot. My K5's all did great mud or snow for tight turns. another thing to look at after you take out the spooled front might be tire size? smaller tires will make it turn tighter also

Also if you have selectable hubs you can 3 wheel to get lined up, and then lock in the other hub once youre ready.

In 2wd and 4wd it goes lock to lock, the spool just makes it a pain in the ass in 4wd to get there but it will go with a little movement.... I have been thinking of getting skinner tires but mine are like new and dont want to loose out getting rid of them (I would need ne rims too). I have no problem turning the tires on everything execpt when jamed up next to rocks....

Put a lock right in the ft. I have one with my rear welded, fullsize4life is welded both ends, on the same trails I get threw with ease, he dose 10 pt turns like you. We both have jeeps and his wheel base is about 6" shorter which should help him. IMO its your spooled ft causing your prob

i am planing on changing out the spool...lock rite keeps coming up as a great option but will it lock up when I need it while the wheels are turned in rocks and such?
