Before snow flies or sooner. If all goes well next week, I'll see if I can't borrow one of the boss' dealer plates for a few days.

Reworked drivers downpipe, much better but I'll still need a lift and adjust bumpstops.

Fixed trans leak.
New acc pump on carb, old gasket was leaking.
Moved the fork on the disco, now the axle is always connected.
Checked/filled fluids on everything down under.

The bad:
Took it for a ride and the trans slips like a mother. My fault for using a used trans as is.

So, I need to find money for the lift and to get the trans reworked. This pile will never see the road..............

700r4. I have a couple ideas but I'm thinking the trans needs help. I am thinking of putting a 350 in it. We'll see.

That's one of the things I want to check. I topped it off today but if stuff settled then who knows. I had the pan off to change the lockup solenoid a couple months ago and didn't see anything odd in the pan.

I figured it would be a dumb question but if you've been messing with stuff its not hard to miss

Checked it today and it was a fuzz low. Dumped a quart in and took it for a spin. If you go easy it hooks, if you get on it it'll slip. Like driving with a bad clutch.

Any one with a buildable S-10 4x4 700r4?

Talk to skif...
Why not build the one you have?
Any 700r4 will work, you just have to swap the extension housing.

Lets see, waiting for the shaft kit from Advance for the turbo 350. Then the trans is getting rebuilt along with the new output shaft.

Torque converter. A bump over stock will be fine.

Get the SYE kit for the 231 I picked up and get it ready.

Lift.

New rear driveshaft to work with the new SYE t-case.

I've been fighting the temp gauge sender so I'm going to make the trans temp gauge do double duty. I have a extra sender for the gauge that I'll put a SPDT switch on it so I can flip between trans temp and coolant temp.

The speedo I have a few questions in to a couple places so I can have a working and accurate speedo. The stock is mechanical and I'll be abandoning it for electronic. Just need to sort out a couple things.

It may see the road yet this year. It already runs very nice and does move but not well. Loose ends and more crap to do. It's been a cheap project until now. I probably have $1500 in it but I'll spend that again doing everything now to finish it and be a dependable rig.

Oh well, it's only money.
