Default New from SE Michigan

Hi guys (and gals),

My name's Garrett. I'm 17, but please don't make assumptions. I'm mature for my age but I like to have fun. I am employed full time for the summer, and part time during school (1 year left!). I bought my first car pictured below, a 1998 Pontiac Firebird back in April of 2010. I modified it myself, with intake, headers, and exhaust. I enjoy it very much, it's comfortable and quick.. I'm currently on a forum with that vehicle also. I drove it through the winter and the RR quarter has started rust bubbles. I will not tolerate that again.

I've been searching for a couple months now, and have finally found my new toy. A 1995 GMC Sierra 5.0l 4x4. It has seen its better days. Although, the drivetrain is smooth as silk. It has 165k on it with NO rust underneath, the rockers and fenders are chewed up pretty well though. It surely is an ugly work truck, but I didn't want anything more than that. I will be picking it up this Wednesday.

So no, I do not have an offroader yet, but I do have a lifted customized golf cart. My dad, brother and I built it from it's stock state to where it is now. Great for work around the house and fun in the trails.

Anyhow, I'm glad to be here and look forward to meeting/offroading with you in the future!

Also, quick poll... The truck needs new tires. I have drawn to 2 different sets.
(I will be driving it some of the summer, and doing mild offroading. I want fair streetability. All winter also.)

1. General Grabber A/T2
2. Firestone Destination A/T

Thanks!

Welcome

I swear I saw that golf cart in the back of a F-150 this morning on 696...or one that is almost the same.

Here's the pictures. Mine is the white 1995 Sierra 4x4, the blue 1996 Silverado 4x4 is my brother's. He paid a little over double for his.. As you can see, mine is pretty beat up. Doesn't bother me!

If you're looking for maturity you might want to look elsewhere, you won't find much of that here.

Welcome!

Welcome!
I hope you guys can accept me for who I am, no adult wants to hang with a kid, right? Hope to go wheelin' in the near future.

For updates, I bought brand new tires, 285/75/16 Firestone Destination A/T's, did a little cleaning up overall, replaced the brake shoes and a faulty wheel cylinder in the drums.. Next, I will be getting a full tune up, and new hinges for the tailgate.. Both are rusted, and one is snapped clean off. Luckily if the latching mechanism decides to give out, the cables will hold it to the truck.. For now.

I could also use a little help. I need to remove the instrument cluster, as the speedometer is intermittant. (I'm thinking it's the speedo cable?) Anyways, I need to look into that.

Thank you all for the welcomes. Hope to hear from you soon and am siked that hopefully I will get to meet you.
