Default SOLD 1998.5 svt contour 3L

1998.5 e1 svt contour

~138k miles will go up as it is daily driven

Black on midnight blue

Leather, sunroof, power locks, etc.

New pads and rotors front and back within the past few months

Aftermarket exhaust (sounds good)

17" Enkie's with almost new tires

-I have the 2 jackpoint covers that are missing in the pictures

-Mustang gt throttle body

-The previous owner also replaced front struts with mounts, front control arms with ball joints, and spark plugs

-There is no rust on the car

The 3l swap was done by the previous owner with the donor motor pulled from an 05' sable with 20k miles. At that time the transmission had the synchros replaced, ztech final drive, and a torsen installed.

The not so great

-When the swap was done the ac hardware was removed

-The tps is throwing a code, however I plan to put a new one on this week

-there are some small dents

I absolutely love driving it, but I'm buying a new truck so it has to go. I try to be as honest as possible and have done my best to accurately describe the car.

Price is $3700

you can get ahold of me at 248-762-9980

-Austin

I need to clean the car but I know how we like to see pictures so here's a start

Your listing says 3.0 L.....Why is there a 2.5 L in the pic?

I'm interested but it looks like the dash needs repaired first and the newbie stereo wiring job I can see going to your inner fender would have to be inspected. Do you have the stock air box? That warm air intake does nothing positive for the engine.

I can assure you there is no 2.5... I'm assuming you are referring to the IMRC cover, it's also the water pump belt cover. I think I have a stock air box which is basically a cover over the air filter element, the air filter was like this when I bought it. Newbie wiring job? It's just an amp wire that I will take out before the car is sold. I forgot about that trim piece on the dash, I think a buddy of mine might have an extra piece. I will try to call him today.

Nice car. I was looking at these before I bought my svt focus. I like the focus, but sure would have liked driving one of these to compare it to.

Same here. I've driven a cSVT but it's been a while. Nice car, GLWS. The cars a quick with the 2.5L, I'm sure it's a blast with the 3L

Thanks guys. Yeah they are fun cars, I bought this one because I missed my old one. Having owned both the 3L is like a completely different car than the 2.5.

SHARPMACHINE, I have never driven an SVT focus. In the off chance you are down this way before I sell it you are welcome to check it out for comparison.

just for information, I take it its a 3.0l with 2.5l intake? were the ports matched? does it have 2.5l cams or 3.0l cams? or were the heads swaped? there are so many variations on this swap that you need to be clear about exactly what it is....

To answer the intake questions, the vast majority of 3.0l swaps use the upper and lower intake manifolds from the 2.5l because of the SVT's variable intake, which is what makes these cars fast. The "ideal" swap is a 3.0l block and heads, 2.5l cams and intake, which makes the most power. He said the engine has 3.0l cams, which is not a bad thing, just not optimal. In order for this setup to work, the 3.0l intake ports have to be modified, and a plate attached to block off coolant passages. Don't post in someone else's thread in a negative manner without at least doing some research about the car and the modifications done to it. A simple search would have revealed all of this information, and then you wouldn't look like a fool, especially since you have no intention of buying the car in the first place.
BTW free bump and glws, its a good deal for this car

Go in a straight line. I don't have a good answer for you I have never ran it. I have heard other people with 3l's say they are on par with the v8 mustangs if the same vintage. It's a quick car and when the secondaries open up your pants get a little tight. Where the car really shines is in the turns plus it gets pretty stellar gas mileage.
