Smittybilt fail!

OK i have a smittybilt XRC8 winch have had it for going on three years in this three years its maybe been used two maybe three times none for actual vehicle revcoery. but it seeems everytime i need this winch to work for something it fails. so far i have replaced to solennoid packs on it (free from smittybilt) three times. today i went to use it and got the same problems as before green light comes on but nothing attmepts to happen with the motor. Any body have any ideas why my solenoids keep dying? are these supposed to be covered aat all times? i men there inside the black plastic control box but i do not have a winch cover to protect that from the elements.

I have had great luck with mine, I use it all the time. I would double check all your battery and ground connections.

At least you saved a few bucks. Good thing you weren't stranded somewhere and you really needed it. You get what you pay for.

I love mine, its 2 years old and has had at least 20 recoveries on it, including several full size trucks in some pretty deep mud.
Sorry about your luck.

no problems with mine and it's seen some doozies! I'm going to upgrade though to a warn. The cost of replacing the line just doesn't make sense when the whole unit wasn't much more.

just buy a cover they are cheap, mine is new (less than 6 months old) only used once on my leave but plan to use it when i get home again. my harbor freight one worked good but just was very very slow. http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CBcQ8wIwAA
