Got the engine wiring harness ran into the passenger compartment, all the of the harness split loomed, and all of the power/grounds hooked up. Now working on finishing the small things today, like finish wiring up the dash, power steering lines finished. Need to find a different radiator, as the one that I originally bought wouldn't fit. Thinking about getting the old radiator re tubed, and running that for a while. Getting really close to having it running again. Can't wait to start driving it again.

It runs again. Just need to get a radiator, finish the exhaust, wire up the alternator, and install some sort of security feature for the engine so that someone can't start it in the parking lot. Saw something cool at TSC the other day, it is a remote controlled accesory circuit. I could put this in line somewhere, and have a remote to be able to turn it on and off.

I will post some more pics when I get a chance.

So i guess I can just never be satisfied. Ever since I rebuilt the back half of the frame, I have been wishing that I would have just went ahead and built a new frame. Now I keep finding more spots that are looking the greatest. Now I am having problems with the radiator, and the grill mounting.

I am thinking about building a new frame, using the new cage mounts to mount the body, and redoing all the body work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Does anyone have any pics of their cage with the body mounted off of it?

This will also give me a chance to get rid of the stock inner fenders, and finally be able to finish the tube fenders.

Kinda sucks to do this now that I just got the new engine in, and hooked up, but I guess I just like having a project that I can't drive.

Couldn't you build the frame seperately and then swap everything over once complete? Then you'd have a driver till the frames done. Then do your bodywork next winter. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.

That is kinda what I am planning. Building the frame next to the jeep, then when I get ready to swap everything over, do the body work, and figure out how I want to paint it. The only problem is that I still need to find enough room for the radiator to fit correctly.

I am planning on starting the mock up of the new frame tonight, as long as it isn't too hot in the barn. I am at least going to start taking some measurements, and getting reference points for the new frame. I will post some pics when I make some progress.

Finally got some more progress done on the jeep. I cleaned up the stock frame, and painted it. Then I removed the stock body mounts, and cut out the mounts on the bottom of the body. Everything is clean, and ready to have the body set back on the frame so that I can line up the new plates that will become the new body mounts for the bottom of the tub. Can't wait to get it back together and driving. Now I can see a very small pinhole of light at the end of the garage.

Finally, After it sitting for over a year, I am making some progress on the jeep again. Over the last week, I have gotten the body mounts finished, and the tub back on the frame. Now I am working on building a new dash. I Just need to paint it tomorrow, then it will be ready to go back in the jeep. Also working on welding in the cage to frame tie ins tomorrow. Then the only thing that is left is to finish mounting the radiator/grill, and finishing up a fuel cell, lines, and brake lines. Hoping to have it running within the next month. Maybe even get it up to silver lake for a test before the end of the season.

Roll cage tie in's are done and painted. All new hardware for the cage attachment points. Just need to bolt the fuel tank down, connect the lines, and run a power wire to the fuel pump. Then all that is left if building the grill hoop, mounting the radiator, grill, electric fan, and lights. I will be using the old tube fenders with a little modifiaction to tie them into the rad hoop. I will post some pics as soon as I get another working camera.

well, The jeep finally went up and down the road for the first time with this engine and trans. Now just need to work on fenders, mounting the grill, mounting a fan, and cleaning up some wiring. Finally getting to a point where I can see that all of the work is starting to pay off. I will post pics tomorrow if the camera will work.
