Default FS: Modified 1972 Jeep Commando SOLD

Due to health reasons I am forced to sell my commando.

Price is 6500.00. Jeep is located in Berkley Michigan.

1972 Jeep commando. First year that AMC took over the body styling. Some refer to the 72-73 Jeep Commando as "bullnose's"

This has been my baby since bringing her home in sad shape 5 years ago. This Jeep came from the factory with Power steering and Power brakes. It has a Dana 44 in the rear and a D30 front axle. Both axles are loaded with 3.73 gears and Aussie lockers which where installed by GL member Killerbee.
He also installed new bearings and seals. The D20 transfer case has had a twin stick conversion installed.
The TH400 trans is stock and good working order.

Here is a list of some of what I have done to restore and beef up this unique jeep.

Painted factory avocado mist, metallic green, 7-2010
70% of the floorboards are new. Entire floor is rock solid.
Floor has been bedlined with hercuiliner.
Bestop soft top installed 2 years ago. In excellent shape, no rips or tears !
Have a spare Bikini top that goes with too.

304 engine with

Edelbrock 2132 - Edelbrock Performer-Plus Cam and Lifter Kits
COMP Cams Magnum Steel Roller Tip Rocker Arms
Motorcraft carb rebuilt late last year.
New carter mech fuel pump.
Proform HEI distributor
PerTronix Flame-Thrower Ignition Coil
Brand new heavy duty radiator installed 2 months ago
New electric fan
Upgraded Alternator
Brand new 3 row radiator installed late last year

Suspension

Hellcreek 4" leaf springs
New Eye spring bushings
Lift shackles front and back
Softride shocks all the way around
1" body lift
Aussie lockers front and rear with heavy duty diff covers.
New axle bearings installed when the lockers were put in.
36X12.50 swampers on 15X8 rims
Dana 20 twin stick conversion
Trailforge heavy duty D30 Tie rod and Draglink

Assorted

Aero heavy duty 23 gal gas tank with skid plate
Custom made steering box brace
Grant steering wheel
Summit guages
Custom made rear bumper with swing out tire carrier
Custom made front bumper with winch mount
Warn 9000 lb winch and controller
Bestop front seat covers, black
Rear seat is in excellent shape
Custom made rock slider bars, to protect the rocker panels.
Jeep TJ fender flares on all corners.
New Radio/CDP with removable faceplate
Custom made speaker boxes with Alpine 6X9 speakers in them
Optima red top battery
Factory Roll bar
Flowmaster 70 truck muffler
New exhaust pipes from the manifold to tailpipe
Alpine head unit and Alpine 6X9 speakers in custom made boxes

Brakes

Lengthened stainless steel brake lines
upgrade to heavy duty 11" drums all the way around
New wheel cylinders, springs, shoes
All New hard brake lines

I have a few extra parts that come with the sale of this jeep

Pair of doors in decent shape, with glass
Front fenders
Hood

and few other odds and ends.

Since all this work has been done in roughly the last 4 plus years I have put maybe a couple hundred miles on it. The motor runs excellent and get about 15mpg plus on the highway.

The only thing that I can say is wrong with this truck is the swapmers have some dry rot and one has a slow leak requiring it to be filled every couple of weeks.

Here are a couple of pics. Have more if you want em.

Bedliner

WOW that is a awesome Jeep in unbelievably good shape you don't see that hardly ever!

Would you consider trades?

I have a few Jeeps and a awesome 03' Honda Valkyrie motorcycle!

I may consider trades for

A 68-72 Chevelle project

20ft enclosed trailer

Maybe a 2000 or newer Chevy tow rig.

Thats about it. Thanks

Very nice. How many can fit in the back seat, 2 or 3?

There is two seat belts in back but we regularly fit 3 and still had room for a cooler, chairs and my emergency kit.
