I'd hope the dude has flood insurance, its a place where the gov. sends out a letter every year reminding you that they will open the flood gates and swamp your shit if they have to.

I have to admit, That is one of my dreams come true. Very Impressive. I wonder if he could sue the government for the price it took to create. I'm also guessing he might be some kind of Enginieer.

Kudos to him. I hope he built it high enough. Ditto on what TSA guy said. Too many people in this country take the easy way out instead of having pride in self preservation. I his house ended up getting flooded I'd be willing to donate to his cause long before I'd donate to someone who sat on their ass.

I always figured you as an ark kind of guy, not a sandbagger. He chooses to live there, he is lucky the government even lets him. They could just as easily buy all the land and kick everyone off of it.

. An Ark would be pretty cool, I'm not going to lie. I think the urge to build moats comes from my childhood on the beech. I was the kid who created those ankle breaking holes in the ground. That's all this really is. A Child hood dream come true. In all Honesty, I don't have all that much that I would care if it got flooded.

X2. I wonder if he has a excavating company, or if he just had the equipment to build that quickly.

I gotta give the guy credit. But I remember a story like this awhile back where a guy did the same thing and ended up losing the battle. IIRC in that story all he did was build a wall. This guy has a pretty good plan :)
