Default High steer arm studs

who is using what? Arps are about $80 bucks, are the mandatory. Will a good grade 8 bolt work? There for a 79 kp 60 under a 93 yj with stock box and 39.5 iroks on h2s. Input please.

You could probably get away with it, however you must make sure everything stays properly torqued, as it could lead to the knuckles cracking and then breaking apart at the worst time.

I can't tell you the grade 8's will be fine, but I'm going through a 1 ton upgrade right now too. Based on everything I have read, this is NOT one of those parts of the build you want to half-ass with less then optimal parts. I know for certain getting the axles back together seems like it will nickle and dime you to death but there is a reason why everyone recommends the ARP stud kits.

cancel my above post. I just slipped a 1/2 x 20 bolt thru my arm...way too sloppy. i guess i will order up some arp studs. I didnt realize the shoulder of the stud was so much bigger than the O.D. of the threads. Thanks .

yup too late. I just ordered a set of arms from ballistic and they come with studs. I bought a set off ebay and was gonna just buy studs and use them. But decided to go a different more expensive route.
