Arb locker

Anyone running arb lockers?
I need some learnin.........
When I 'bench' test to check the gear ratio by rotating the axle one rev and counting how many times the pinion spins I only get half of what the ratio should be.
Make sense?
But when its locked I get the full ratio (4.88)
Any help??

That's exactly what should happen. With an "open" dif, if one side is stationary, the other side will spin double. When it's locked up, they spin the same.
