thanks guy's.
Just about done with the cage, and then I need to move back to my wheel delima. Ugggh. I'm using the WJ knuckles and brakes, and never installed the calipers on the knuckles while working out the bugs with the front axle. Thats what I get for not looking into things before jumping in head first I guess. Found out the hard, and expensive way that 15" TrailReady wheels will not fit over the WJ knuckles/brakes. I wasnt about to re-do all the steering if I was to switch back to the TJ knuckles, so I sold the wheels and tires. Soooooo back to trying to find wheels and tires. Tires are next to impossible to buy right now. I havent been able to find any one that has, or knows when they will have the 37" MTR's. And Super Swamper isnt going to be making tires till end of May.
WTF?

I'm really digging the build. I like your KISS approach. Subscribed.

Looks great! Would've looked better as a Scrambler, but we don't need to go there

I'm digging the front bumper/winch mount design with the stretched steering box, I plan to do something very similar with mine.

Ya well in hind sight, I would have been better off doing the deal with you than building this, but were way past that point. Remember I didnt want another huge project? I think there is a little something wrong with all of us. Been keepin an eye on your build as well. Its lookin real nice.

Just a few misc pics of the front c/o hoops, and rear shocks. Still need to come up with rear bump stops yet. I had some mocked up, but dont think they are going to work. Had it inside the coils, but with the stock spring it reaching full bump to soon, so I think Im going to go with a set of air bumps for the rear as well.

I hear ya there. I was planning on a simpler and quicker project but that's not how it seems to go when we're picky about what we want. I at least managed to stick pretty close to my budget even thought I've gone bigger than planned. My only regret at this point is that I should've started with a better base TJ. I got a great deal on my high mileage turd, but at this point I wish I'd spent a bit more for something that'd take less to get running, driving, and looking nice....I'll get there though

LOL...We'll never learn Sean. I've resorted to lifting the wifes JK so we have something to wheel for Memorial Day weekend, so I can do a couple different things that were not part of the original plan. I want to run a flipped 300 case now, so I have to do some research on what all I need to make this work the right way.

What is your definition of the right way?

Just worried about the shifters being cobbled up. I want to make sure that I can use some kind of cable shifter, or a twin stick set up so the shifter comes thru the stock position, if possible......I havent done any research on the swap yet, so at this point the only thing I know about the swap is that it will work behind my AX-15 with a clocking ring.

I know you used a flipped 300 in yours, but its been a while since I browsed thru your build. What did you end up using for the shifters? Did you make your parts, or use a kit?

Northwest Fabrication has a pretty nice cable shifter kit for little more money than it'd cost to piece together your own. I was gonna go that route with a flipped 300 but I'm just gonna throw an SYE on the 231 and run that for now.

Midwest control cable shifters from the D300 thread on Pirate. Made my mounts and modified the stock shifter housing to bring them up through the stock center console. Let me know what you want pictures of. I doubled the seals up after polishing the rails and it still leaks pretty badly. I'd run a 231 with HD sye and the posi lock do hicky to run 2wd low if I had it to do over. Let me know what you want pictures or more information on.

Sweet deal, only thing I can add, I would of welded the 8.8 axle tubes to the pumpkin.

And yes, it is nice to see some serious fab work and not on tons and full width.
