Default Inflation Actually Near 10%

"Inflation, using the reporting methodologies in place before 1980, hit an annual rate of 9.6 percent in February, according to the Shadow Government Statistics newsletter."

I believe this more accurately reflects the inflation for an average person. The goods and services I have to purchase on a daily basis have increased substantially more than the "official" 2% inflation.

A few months ago choice steers were going for .96 cents per pound. They were 1.36 per pound Tuesday.

Do you like steak and hamburger, this significant cost increase will affect all meat commodity.

This is a huge jump in 5 months or so.

This is easily seen in the grocery store already.

And they say that prices will continue to rise. Its a global thing and we as Americans are about to get in line with what most countries in the world pay for goods.
And it sucks

yup. because our elected officials don't understand how capitalism works. when you over spend, then print more money it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Shit, they changed the alloy of most our change because it cost more to make than what it was worth. the U.S. dollar is being pushed away from being the world standard. Thanks , they never seem to understand reality. hope they all like the change they elected to turn us into the equal of a 3 world country.

that's another thing they don't seem to understand. When inflation goes up it costs employers more money to buy goods, supplies and services. that extra cash outlay prevents employees from raises or extra benefits. It creates an unrealistic gap between cost and wage growth ultimately stiffling the economy. the loaf of bread costs 3x as much but the customer is still making the same or less if they took a reduction to keep their job.
