1) Why anyone listens to that moron is beyond me. Does it suck that GM porked Flint? Yes...that was about the only reasonable thing he ever got across...and it's something people can get over.

2) This is something that should bring up an even bigger question...why does the media have such a big influence on what people think? I don't mean in the sense that they report news...I mean in the sense that they report , and skew the hell out of the facts.

If just the facts were reported, and no filler crap was added, I truly believe this country would be in way better shape.

It was a sad day for me when I learned he made the movie Canadian Bacon. Ruined what I thought was a funny movie.

Most people react to their emotions without thinking; the media is an expert when it comes to taking advantage of this. Whether it is overt tactics that Fox/Limbaugh choose or more covert methods employed by networks such as CBS: The media knows how to get your attention and feed you the information necessary to alter your opinion to their benefit.

Think about any good story / show / movie - it gets you involved. You connect with the characters or the content of the show - often on an emotional level. The only difference between fact and fiction is that you KNOW you're watching a movie and it isn't real. You can "unplug" when it's over.

The news pulls at your emotions in the same way, however, it is presented as fact and NOT entertainment. This shit is real, and something must be done about it! You can help at the local level! Yep - manipulation of your emotions and utterly, your life - all to fit someone's agenda.
