Prerunning is the task of running a race course ahead of time, before a race (prerun) to find lines, obstacles, and learn the route.

Driving off-road at a brisk pace is often associated with prerunning. Just like climbing over rocks at a slow pace is called crawling.

FYI :P

Driving offroad like an asshole is nothing like pre-running...its just driving like an asshole...however climbing over rocks at a slow pace is called rock crawling, not rock climbing, as there is already sport called rock climbing and it has nothing to due with pre-running...so I'm confused, what is supposed to be cool again?

So what you two are saying is that to prerun, you HAVE to have a $80,000.00+ long travel truck? I am so glad you guys are are clearing this up for me. Anything else and your just a asshole............

So hear is a question - Ford Raptor would this vehicle be able to pre-run OR are you just a asshole driving fast on a dirt road?

anything can pre-run as long as you are pre-running...you are talking about driving like an asshole as the same as pre-running, which it is not. You can't pre-run shit if you don't plan on running it again

So in theory John Deere is always pre running as it's always running? insert green background with yellow running deer pic. As opposed to being an asshole deer?

raptor = factory prerunner.

everything else is asshole, including you.

As far as I am concerned, if a SUSPENSION company builds a kit and calls that a pre-runner, then shows a short video of how awesome it isn't, then I question if that SUSPENSION company really knows what a pre-runner is.

On the flip side, if you built that in your garage for the purpose of doing some "pre-running" or high speed fire roading, or dune bashing, than it would be pretty cool and was probably purpose built.....

Thank you guys for calling them out on the whole prerunner thing so I don't have to be the asshole.

My truck has 12" of Fox remote resi damped travel and an axle truss....it's a tow rig/daily driver Could it prerun? Sure. Is it a prerunner? Fukk no. Should it be a prerunner? Fukk no. Would calling it a prerunner make me cooler? Sure, as long as I go buy myself a flat billed Monster hat and some sikk white Oakleys.

Edit: I guess technically my truck is a prerunner for my trailer

ya, I still don't get how the folks at Teraflex thought this was a pre-runner concept. Its tall and tippy looking and doesn't have the classic donkey-dick pre-runner bumper sticking out the front. It just looks like a lifted JK.

That said, I do think Teraflex makes some decent products. I just don't get this one, and don't know why they would try a marketing ploy that perfectly demonstrates a failure in design and concept.

I guess I just don't know cool when I see it.

Well in 1700 class

You have to use a mass produced lift kit from an approved vendor.

Read jeep speed rules for 1700 class
Part 4.1.3.3

Not to mention jeep speed is considered class 17 in the Score rules book and there is a ton of classes from stock VW to stock full size truck to modified stock truck and short wheel base classes. So I don't see the big deal contest on what a true pre runner is because if someone showed up to Baja with a JK and the rig handled going 60+ through the desert all day I'd say the kit held up and was designed the best it can be for a pre runner type application.
