I did about 80 miles on Saturday. Now I have a bigger itch, and it is supposed to be in the 30's all week.

I really like the Shadow's... They are a nice bike. I don't know how people go without a windshield though on a cruiser. I rarely see them without a half helmet.

Thanks for the compliment. I do have a windshield I just don't like the way it looks. I am the wimp rider, I wear a full face helmet. I have more of a concern of the other drivers smacking into me and bouncing my head off of the ground. Maybe after I ride for 20 years and feel too comfortable I will change that, but in the 5 years I was a Fireman I saw several bikers we had to clean up with a stick and a spoon. So no shorts and sandals for me either.
I enjoy riding I am not the fastest guy out there and don't ride like I have a death wish so if someone would like to go riding let me know.

You sound like me, I hate the look of my windshield... it looks much less old man like without it. Maybe it was because it was barely in the 60's when I rode without it.

I don't do the full face helmet though, I couldn't hear a damn thing with mine, not even my own bike. I like to be able to hear what is going on around me. I have been looking for a nice 3/4 with a face shield though if I can find one that isn't god awful ugly.

I thought I was the only one to hate the looks of the windshield on these bikes.
You are so very right about not hearing a thing from under the full face helmets that is the only thing that concerns me about them. I as well am looking for a decent looking 3/4 if you find one let me know.

No Windshield (before a bunch of additions last week)

Windshield (from the day I picked it up)

But I can't stand bugs in my teeth

Here is a shitty pic from the other day, I added an engine guard, speakers, foot boards on the back, and some other things. My new front tire is in my office.

Nice looking bike. Better without the windshield you are right. LOL
One of my biggest complaints about bikes is the over use of chrome. I like the blacked out look. I will try to get some pics up of my bike currently after I de-chromed and flat blacked a bunch of it.

I kind of want to remove my covers and have them powdercoated orange or black. I am not a fan of polishing chrome... my rear rim looks terrible right now.

Here is one I found from when I was working on it. Not such a good photo but the idea is there. My side cover is off in this one being painted. I will get some more when the weather permits.

I'm not pulling my bike out of the shed in 4 inches of snow today, but I got a '73 Yamaha TX750. Low miles but I don't remember how many. It had the valves and top end done before it was put away. I will probably have to clean the gas tank out and empty the float bowls of varnish before firing it up again.

Awesome bike, it looks like you ride whenever you can.

Zook,
An old neighbor of mine had a Yamaha XS650 which is what your bike is based off of and he loved it. Ran great and was easy to maneuver in and around A2 when he was going to school there.

I have a 1973 Yamaha RD350 (2 stroke) as well.

I wish I knew someone that could fix the trans. That was a fun bike.
