? Dana 44 outers

Ok I am curently running a dana 44 up front with dana 30 outers...because of the flat top, so I could run high steer. My problem is that I am constantly going through wheel bearings. What is the best solution out there? Is there a good aftermarket dana 44 outer set up for high steer arms? If so who makes it?

Not sure of you question however I have a question for you. I am currently swapping Scout II 44's under my CJ5 and my plan is to run my Dana 30 knuckles. Do you know if the Scout 44's outer shaft will work with my Dana 30 hub assembly and such??

To be honest I have no clue. But by outers I mean knuckles, and I would shy away do to the smaller bearings. I had my outer shafts reamed for the bigger u-joints to match up with the dana 44 inner shafts. I can't even remember what my front axle is out of? I think it is out of an old Waggy.

Ok I think I need to rephrase this. I have a dana 44 axle w/dana 30 knuckles and hub assembly. The high steer works great, but I am looking for a way to strengthen the hub assembly...ie:bigger bearings? Is there a kit for the dana 30 that has bigger bearings? I apologize ahead of time for my lack of knowledge.

Had to have high steer with the spring over, the knuckles that came with the 44 where not flat top. The 30 knuckles where, my buddy (a machinist) drilled and tapped the 30 knuckles and made custom high steer arms for my application. At the time it saved me a lot of money because I could use all of my dana 30 hubs and rotors and brakes. Now I am sick of repacking my bearings every other time I take the jeep out.
I am thinking after doing some more research that I can use some dana 44 flat top knuckles, have my buddy machine them...drill and tap. And use the hub assembly, brakes, etc. off of that vehicle. My only issue is what vehicle came with a dana 44 w/flat top knuckles and 5on5.5 wheel bolt pattern? Any idea?

I have a pair of ford 5 on 5.5 knuckles from a dana 44 that appear to have flat tops, they look just like my chevy flat tops except for the fact that these are not drilled and tapped yet.

Any idea what year, model they came off? How much you want for them? Ive been researching quite a bit, and am told to find an axle, get the knuckles, outer shafts, spindles, hubs, lockouts, and all brake hardware. Damn near might as well go to a junk yard and buy the whole freakin axle, and go from there. I will be doing this little project in a month or so, if I end up needing those I will PM you to see if you still have them. Thanks
