I love to see a jeep running around with both front fenders folded up, you know when you see that they been wheel for real.

When you put tube fenders on, because I assume they are so much more ridged, do they push back into the body and ruin other things?

They were folded up because of a female driver. lol.

I suppose if you really hit something hard like another car, then they would probably push back into the body, but they are 1/4 inch steel. We have a set on another jeep thats been out alot and bounced off some trees and rocks with nothing more than a scratch. So they are perfect for off road and better than bent up sheet metal.

Been a while since I posted but I got some parts and got them installed. Waiting on a throughout bearing that I had to order.

Looks like a good deal. But is that little motor going to be able to move that heavy Jeep. Is there much that you can do to them power wise. I have been looking into Diesel Swap but mostly at the bt4 and the isuzu3.9 just never though about something this small.

Gearing is fine but you can't make up for torque.

Yes they can make torque. Stock they already make more than the 2.5 and with some work, guys are pushing 300 hp and that means the torque would be.... well pleanty.

I thought about the 4bt but again I am thinking lighter. I dont want a 700+ lb engine and all the larger axles and drivetrane that go with it.

Here is a little update. Got everything bolted together. And pretty much ready to drop in. Just working on motor mounts and alt mount before its in the jeep. I did have to get a through out bearing for a 93 v6 to go with my 4 cylinder clutch. And I shortend up the bearing retainer on the dana 300 and installed a sealed bearing to make it fit onto the ax15.

I also pulled the oil pressure and temp sensors out of the 2.5 and installed them into TDI so that I will be able to use the factory jeep plugs and the gauges should all work.

Nice project. Gonna be cool to see how this thing does, as well as how the mpg is.

I wasn't trying to say that it wouldn't make any torque I just didn't know how much it would. Mine is my DD and my trail toy so what ever I do to it is going to have to live with the stock drive line that's the one thing that has kinda held me back from the bt4 even with people running them with completely stock drive lines.
