Default Mid 90's IFS diff replacement

I am planning on swapping out the complete front diff/axle housing on my 94 P'up. Any issues, or special tools I may need to do this? Any idea what gear ratio a V6 auto truck will have. I have a spare 4.10 set-up from my old 87 P'up. If I have to I will swap the rear to match this. Unless I can find a cheap front diff to match what I currently have. Truck is basically a winter DD/hauler.

V6 auto probably 4.56 or 4.88. Why are you swapping everything out?

Front ring & pinion are shot. I have spare front and rear diff's that match and don't want to spend the money to rebuild front. If it has 4.56 or 4.88 that sucks. It is slower than my 85 4runner 22re 5-spd w/4.56 & 33's. I may have to put the set of 225's on it.

Just find out what your p/u has and search for a front diff to match it. That way, youll keep the heavier duty v6 rear diff and retain factory gearing.

The door code will tell you the gear ratio......should be like 4 digets......3 numbers and a letter.

my 92 v-6 auto 4runner has 4.56.....I had a 95 that was 4.56 also.

According to that list it should be a 4.56. If I can find a cheap one I will just replace front, Anybody have a spare laying around they want to sell cheap? If I can't find one it will be 4.10's front and rear with p225's. Maybe I can get some gas mileage out of it that way. It is a slug anyway.

Well so much for 4.10 swap. My buddy needed a rear diff and I sold him my last 4.10 diff. That is the 4th diff he has put in that poor truck. He says when this one goes he is selling me the truck.
