Look at it this way they still have a job, which is a good thing. The way I understand it, it was balance the buget and in order to do that they needed to make cuts or lay off public employee union members.
They still have a job to go to so things aren't so dark.

Going back to 1990's pay and benefits is much better than bankrupt local governments, bankrupt states and a bankrupt nation.

Honestly? Teachers unions have made it very, very difficult for other public employees. They work 9 months out of the year, have all kinds of holidays off, big benefits, great pay, tenureship, AND if they don't get their way they hold your kids hostage. They have taken to being in charge of public funded circuses instead of institutions of learning.

I'm willing (and expect) to take a hit for the team. I don't like it, but I will. Especially seeing that I know scores of friends who are not public employees that are unemployed and several who have been so for over 18 months.

Found something here that explains the reasons why the union workers are so upset. They actually now have to start paying for what they get and not having the tax payers cover their butts.

Listen. Don't start acting all crazy and stuff. For years and years, public sector employees were WAY behind workers who worked in the private sector. You're probably too young to remember. It took years of hard work to "catch up". Now, the private sector has suffered and they expect the same from the public sector. Fine. It is, what it is. They are public employees and the public can do that.

When the economy picks up again (and I believe it will) don't everybody act all shocked when people refuse to work under those conditions, for that pay and pissy benefits. Just sayin'.

Well it passed, cheer the encroaching Fascism, Citizen's United decision and the rest of far right wing crap.
Now Walker can sell off their utilities no-bid in private.

Unions sucks ass, teachers make good money, liberals are anti American.
I have had the pleasure of dealing with unions on every level. They suck and should be outlawed.

I have a sister that makes close to 100k a year as a teacher at a public school, that's actual pay not including benefits. My daughter that just graduated 2 years ago is making about 65K as a teacher, not bad entry level job.

Liberals continually want the government to provide them with everything. The Government does not owe you insurance, food, housing, a job, this country was built on giving you an opportunity.

People that become successful in business don't owe anybody, they should reap the return on investment. Most people that bitch about successful people, when given the opportunity to become successful, will not invest what it takes to do so, they think they are just owed something. Thats what the unions build on.

The dems had been doing the same for the past two years. So the pulled a page from the dems playbook. Good for them.

I have never seen adults act like little children when thet don't get what they want until now.
The way I heard it is that they take pay cuts or lose thier jobs.

Most of the lefties wouldn't even understand the book. Should be required reading in school. Maybe a whole class dedicated to discussing it.
