Default Can Obama disreguard laws?

Just heard that Obama told DOJ to no longer stand up and defend the Defensive Marriage Acr which President Clinton signed into law.
A dictator is one who makes up and disposes of laws as he sees fit. But we are a country of laws, how can he do this without a vote to abolish or have input from the people?
This man needs to go, time to impeach him!

I heard it on fox news and my home page, comcast and speaking of dictators I was watching glenn beck and he had an interesting piece on the revolutions in the mid east and the protests in our country. He mentioned on how the union leader of this country has been with Obama and talking about the union workers here and speaking to the people in the mid east about joining forces in a labour effort and how the americans are with them.
What is up with obama? he says nothing about 4 americans being killed by muslim pirates but joins forces with protesting union workers in this country and abroad.

He (osama-bama) pisses on our laws everyday. And the very left wing news shows like MSNBC loves to air, like maddow and ed shultz will be singing the praises of him all the way down the drain. Along with the dumbass's that elected him.

Shows up in 20 plus news articles.
Americans are astonished because it is the job of the DOJ to defend American laws, no matter how the administration might "feel" about the laws; again, that's their job. President Obama has made no secret of the fact that he doesn't like the Defense of Marriage Act, and yet even that doesn't give him or his administration the right to bypass the constitution, to bypass the will of the people, to bypass a law signed by another Democrat president. Many Americans feel affronted by the arrogance this edict shows.

No, but law enforcement has always picked and chosen which laws to enforce. He is not the first president to do something like this. I bet most, if not all have.

My question is why at this time has he decided to divide the country even more? Should he not be doing something like leading this country out of the economic mess we're in?
He needs to do the job he was put there to do.

Wow, first the military and now marriage rights. The gay community sure has some strong strings attached to his balls.

Why do we have courts if the president himself gets to decide which laws are constitutional?
This is a constitutional outrage!!

What is the basic idea of the Defense Marriage act, or what ever it is called that he is trying to ignore?

DOMA prevents the federal government from recognizing the validity of same-sex marriages.

Newt Gingrich has a good take on the unconstitutionality of suspending the DOMA.
The idea that we now have the rule of Obama instead of the ruke of law should frighten everybody
