Default Lifted S10 Trailer

I decided since I don't have enough to do on the Blazer project I better add something else onto my plate. The plan is an off road capable trailer to carry camping gear, tools and some extra fuel for those extended trips. I got on craigslist and found this gem to start with.

I figured since it was the same body style as my blazer it would look cool behind it. So back to craigslist for some tires. I scored some 38 inch TSLs for $40. Then I ordered up a couple wheels to match the ones on the blazer.

I also have a fiberglass topper to put on it, so I can keep everything dry. Its going to need some lift though.

I think the ticket would be some 6 or 8 inch chevy rear springs and a longer shackle. I also decided to do a roll in bed liner.

The bed liner is done and now I need to search for springs. Then I can throw the new axle in, paint it, pimp it out and its done. Total cost so far ~$500

I did some more work on the trailer. It turned out pretty good. I still have a lot to do but progress is progress. I had an axle made for it and got the lift in. I know rednecks everywhere will be jealous.

I still need to fix the body and paint it. Then I can start adding the necessary gear it will carry. I'd like to find another 38" TSL for a spare, but I'm not real worried about it at this point. I'll be adding some lights, a battery, a fuel tank with pump, and tool storage.

Build a spare tire mount on it. Either on the tongue or a swing out off the rear bumper.

looks good! it looks like you might have a ton of room to put storage underneath as well. i don't know how much work you want to put into it, but there's tons of unused space down there that won't get in your way. will you humor me and post pics of the underside, showing clearances and your frame and such? it looks good, i wanna see how it looks underneath.

I've heared there's no fender regs. for vehicles but I've been pulled over and warned about not covering the tires on a trailer. It was about 9 years ago so I don't know if anything's changed. Anyhow the trailer looks good.

I've thought of that too. When I get a spare tire for it, I'm going to mount it on the tongue. The plan is to try and keep it balanced nice so it carries its own weight and don't squat or lift the back of my blazer.

There is a lot of room under it. I'm going to mount a fuel tank under it to utilize some of that room. I don't want to have anything hanging down to low though, so I don't hit/drag it off road.

I'm not worried about covering the fenders. I only intend on off road use. The axle is the same width as the rear end in my blazer. The tires stick out about the same as the blazer does. I did that on purpose so it would follow in the same tracks.

I have a tank already, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use it. I'm consdering a fuel cell. I'm kinda up in the air on it right now. I have to many projects going at once. A sweet trailer won't do any good unless I make some progress on the motor project for the blazer. But thanks for the offer.
