I'm having a really hard time with this. WTF is up with the 16" barrel. I've been trying to come up with some possibly legitimate reason why the barrel is 8" too short. I understand a short barrel for maneuverability and weight, but if that was the goal, then it wouldn't be a bull barrel. I understand the bull barrel, for accuracy, but then it wouldn't be a 16", it would be a 24". I am way confused.

Simple reason, theres is not just one prescribed method to reach an end result in accuracy. Different mixes for different folks. The SPR I used in OEF/OIF had a 16 inch bull barrel and shot just fine out to 900 meters.

I see. I'm new to this whole AR thing. I haven't found much use for mine yet. When I get home in a few weeks, I'm planning to do some coyote hunting. I think I'm going to try the AR some and let the bolt rifles take a rest. With the bolt guns I'm used to, we always look for the lightest way to go and still be accurate.
