Thanks to SoFo for putting on another great event.

As the recipient of the "So-Duh" award, I wanted to provide some more background on the story. This was my second trip after switching my CJ-7's AMC 258 from Carburated to propane. The first trip went flawlessly and I had extra fuel after running for a full day at Rocks & Valleys. Soooo, I figured that for Snofari another full tank would do the job.

The Jeep ran awesome all day, especially out on the rocks... until about 4 o'clock. As soon as it started spuddering I knew I was out of propane and with all of the Jerry can's of gasoline I was sure to be harassed for a while by the group.

Since we were in the middle of the woods I knew that towing out would be a real pain and it would hold up the group, so I went with my brother-in-law into town in search of a place to refill my tank. After stopping at the first gas station on 76 and being informed that they did not know of any places open on Saturday that filled propane tanks, we moved on towards West Branch. I figured that I would head to the local hardware store as they typically seem to be a good resource to know what is available locally. As we pulled into the West Branch Ace I was elated to see a propane filling station out front.

I would like to give kudos to Ace in West Branch as they saved me in a bind. Next time I am in town with the jeep I will be bringing my tanks by for another fill!

After we got my tank back in the Jeep and started down the trail, I heard our trail leader on the CB and found out that they ended up just behind us. So I was still able to follow the group back into town to the hotel.

Also - my dual propane tank setup has just moved up on the priority list. Got to get my drawings finished up and then over to Pat at Creative Fab to build the drop down storage for the tanks.

I was laughing pretty good at the So-Duh award. In fact, I still am.

I deserve the harrasment and laughs.... I was pretty cocky that I would have more then enough fuel.

I purchased the tank filled and when I put it in I though that it was a little light... I should have weighed it before hand.

Guess it was better to be stranded in West Branch then when I get out in Moab in a few months.

I think everyone on the run had 5-10 gallons of spare gas

By the way, a big thanks to you, Tab & your wives for the hot cider and cozy warming spot at the rocks. For an old guy you're pretty cool

Thanks SoFO, it keeps getting better and better every year!

Thanks too to our unofficial Green Group helpers Rob and Lucas - Rob had the only other winch in our group besides Doug and I, we put him and Lucas in the middle and leaned on them often.

The cider was great!

I owe a huge, Huge, HUGE thanks to Evie, Corrinne and Julie. I'm 100% sure that SnoFari would have been a disaster without out their help! I am so grateful for their willingness to jump in and help where help was needed. They were a dream team!

Oh, and a thank-you to Annette and Julie for knocking on my door at 7:10AM Saturday morning. Nyquil coma + dead cell phone = late to registration!!

Despite the overwhelming need for sleep and a steady supply of kleenax, I had a really great time and was so thrilled to see all of the groups coming back with smiles on their faces!
