Default chevy K1500 axle interchange?

I have a 94 K1500 suburban. I was wondering if anyone has swapped in a rear axle from a 88-98 pick up. I know the brakes are different, and I wondered if you could bolt the brakes from one to the other. Also are there sway bars on the rear axles of pick ups. Just wondering if anyone has done this before. Is it just a nuts and bolts thing, or is there some welding involved?

Thanks,
Fred

My 92 pick up don't have a sway bar but its a 3/4 ton too so idk if that makes a difference. So long as its the same axle I wouldn't see why the other brakes wouldn't work.
