I'm almost positive the 6 hole flexplate I gave you with the engine already had the spacer with it and just needed the longer bolts

With a high horsepower/ high heat engine, I always found the need for my fan to run longer than just shutting off with the engine. So, I went to a thermostat controlled one. That was fine until the friggin thermostat switch failed.

Stay mechanical. If it's good enough for GM, it's good enough for Becky.

Spacer is not on motor, flywheel was off and laying on trailer, some stuff got a little tampered with in my driveway for the month it was covered and sitting, some jackass even took my gas filter apart to get my gas out of the tank. Either way, it's not there, ordered another, and not worrying about a $49 part at this point. Moving on......

and I will remember the fan, have to shut off my CO2 also.....forgot a lot in the beginning, but pretty damn good about it now.

I'm surprised they'd take the spacer and not the flexplate. I remember when I took the old 3 bolt dished flexplate off(engine was originally mated to a 4L65E) to replace it with the 6 bolt right before you came and got it, the spacer was pressed pretty tightly into the flexplate.

Not sure what was taken honestly....just know it isn't there now. Like I said, no big deal, another one on the way.

By the way, Becky, do you still have the deep truck oilpan or a shorter Corvette/Comaro oilpan? You will want the short one.

Jim, have you had any trouble with losing oil pressure on a steep incline? I see lots of people tlak about it on Pirate, and I know 95Geo has got funky with his oil pan, but wasn't sure if thats only in like vertical waterfalls or what...

Never had a problem that I am aware of. I went with the short tube pickup also which in my mind would be fine since it's towards the back.

No, it's the bigger pan, and I will be sticking with it. Had some feedback sent my way about smaller pans not giving enough oil when rig is tipped. As long as there's room, and i'm told there is, the bigger pan stays.

On the big trucks I like to have the fan controlled by a thermostat, but have a switched hooked up so that it can be turned on manually.

I've heard that but not experienced it. I find it hard to believe since even with the short pan it holds 6 quarts which is more than any older version SBC. I'll guarantee you that it will hang low and you will run the risk of smashing it on a rock. When I had the long pan in, it was lower than any other part of my frame or drivetrain. Right now, I have an integral skid plate that is flush to my engine pan and my trans pan and it's all scratched up. I've literally been sitting on my skid plate right under my engine.
