Default 4.3 in a YJ

This winter's project is putting a 4.3 in my YJ. Anyone else ever do this?

I seen one for sale a few years ago near Farwell so you wouldn't be the first. Good luck.

I had one in a YJ. To me it's not worth the effort. I would sell the motor and buy a 350. Not trying to rain on your parade. Just my .2 worth.

a vort 4.3 is 210hp and a stock tbi 5.7 is 235 hp and 2 cyl heavier. keep the 4.3. run the heck out of it

I put a tbi 4.3 in a yj. It replaced a tbi 2.5L 4 cyl which felt like it had 50hp. So the tbi 4.3 had more power than that. Now that the jeep has gone bigger I regret not putting in a v8 when i had the chance. A vortec 4.3 may be another story though good luck.

Ever get this in? I'm almost done with a 4.3 propane injected YJ transplant for the son's Jeep.

ive owned enough 4.3l vortecs and they are anemic piles of gm trash.......please do yourself the favor and go for the L31 5.7 vortec........

even with mods and such your starting out with 200hp crank.......

drop in a mod'd 4.0l jeep motor(BOLT IN).....or mod up a L31 vortec
